Dick passed away February 27, 2010 at his home.

Richard Neil Currin was born March 4, 1932, in Dallas, TX to the late Benjamin and Louise Kilman Currin. He was a native Dallasite, attending Robert E. Lee Elementary School, J.L. Long Junior High School, and graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1949. He continued his education, graduating from Southern Methodist University School of Business in 1956 and Southern Methodist School of Law in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and as a Special Agent – Federal Bureau of Investigation following law school.

Dick was employed in the corporate legal department of Sammons Enterprises until 1968, when he joined the law firm of Harrison, Curtis & Cooper, later Harrison & Currin, which was dissolved upon the death of Mr. Harrison. He was engaged in the private practice of law as a solo practitioner from 1972, most recently in Wills Point, where he and his wife, Charlotte moved in 1990. Dick served as City Attorney for several years. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a Past Master of Wills Point Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Russell Memorial United Church, where he was an occasional teacher of the Seekers Sunday School Class. Dick was an avid golfer and was particularly proud of his three holes-in-one, including one on a par 5 hole. The inside story of this amazing athletic feat is known only by a few close friends.

Dick is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Currin.
